At first glance, some would look and see the perfect combination of confidence, grace under fire and education at its best. However, that was not always the case. It took some over - coming the need to fit in, getting help before and after school and sometimes being alone. Full of determination this renaissance woman knows firsthand how to manifest her thoughts into reality.
Before becoming Dr. Casheba V. Cannon philanthropist, educator, and proprietor of Blessed Christian Home School, she was a happy child in Syracuse, Ny with strong ties to Tallahassee, Florida. In her family it was only one rule and one place for higher education, “FAMU” Growing up in the public school system in Syracuse, Dr. Cannon had a love hate relationship with learning. That would all change in 4th grade. She had an encounter with an educator and not a teacher. When asked what the difference between the two is she confidently explained. A teacher manages a classroom by keeping it quiet and making sure the students assigned to her are safe until the end of the day. An educator makes an intentional effort to pour into her students the necessary knowledge, love and support that will last a lifetime. I am an educator! With her parents by her side, she knew the sky was the limit. The seeds of being an educator were planted in fourth grade and nurtured every year until 10th grade. In 10th Dr. Cannon’s internal flame was lit and she knew education was her destiny.
Needing the right tools to manifest her dream, a peculiar sound rang out from Florida to Virginia BEHOLD THE GREEN AND GOLD!
